MANSFIELD, P.A. (WENY) - There have only been two Mansfield University women's basketball players in program history to sign professional contracts until this week. Former MU standout, Jasmine Hilton has signed to play pro ball in Serbia.

Hilton will play for ZKK Spartak in the First League.

Hilton finished in second in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in rebounds per game with 8.6. She also scored 15.6 points per game which was 8th in the conference.

Hilton helped lead the Mountaineers to their first playoff appearance since the 2017-18 season, and she finished her career third all-time in points and fourth all-time in career rebounds.

WENY Sports caught up with Hilton about the process of getting this opportunity, and she feels this team is the right fit.

"I just definitely felt like it was home," Hilton said. "When my agent was telling me that the coach wanted me and what he could see me filling in for the team I'm just like it literally sounds like Mansfield again when the coach is calling me asking me to come to a school to be that key piece to the team and just seeing the coach, seeing how the team works, I definitely felt like it was right for me and I know that the team is going to give me the keys to help me improve."

Hilton is happy to have competed in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference as she prepares for the next level.

"Spending my years at Mansfield has definitely prepared me for what it's going to be like in the FIBA league that I will be playing in," Hilton said. "Obviously, I'm going to hit some rock bottoms but I think that's going to be the growing stones of being a rookie and what's going to help me be the player that I'm destined to be for them."

Hilton is set to start her professional career in Serbia in September.
