Monday will kick off the first day of the heat wave that will impact the Twin Tiers into the upcoming weekend. Highs will be in the mid-90s today and continue in the mid to upper-90s into the end of the week. Mostly sunny skies are expected today with partly cloudy skies tonight. Lows will be in the upper-60s. Tuesday will be the start of the heat advisories as heat index values in the afternoon rise around the 100 degree mark. We could see the chance for a pop-up thunderstorm or two by the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday are filled with partly sunny skies and we cannot rule out a pop-up thunderstorm, but most should remain dry. A greater chance for showers will come Friday and Saturday as we keep an eye on a tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico. This could bring the potential for moisture to move through our region. We will remain in the 90s during this time.  Sunday will bring the chance for more showers and thunderstorms with highs around 90.
