ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - Elmira grad and former Marist University women's basketball player, Zaria Shazer announced on her Instagram on Tuesday that she has committed to Division I Fordham University for her final year of eligibility.

Shazer was a 1,000-point scorer during her high school career where she helped lead the Express to four straight Section IV titles.

Zaria was also a big part of the Marist program with Elmira teammate, Kiara Fisher. Last season, Shazer led the Red Foxes in scoring averaging 13.7 points per game. She also led the team in rebounds with 237, steals with 38, and she was second on the team in assists with 71.

Zaria will join a Fordham program that competes in the Atlantic 10 conference.
