One person dead after wall collapses in the Village of Bath
WENY
BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- Bath Village Police have confirmed that a man from Bath died on Tuesday, August 13th after a wall collapsed him while he was working. Police say Gerald C. Cleveland was working at the site of Clark's Specialty on Delaware Ave., which has been closed since a fire, cleaning scrap metal when the incident occurred.
After an investigation, police say it is believed that a piece of heavy equipment accidentally hit the wall, destabilizing it, and causing it to fall on Cleveland. Police say he was found dead on the scene when first responders arrived.
Bath Village Police say they have contacted OSHA out of Syracuse, and that they will be handling the investigation going forward.
