VILLAGE OF NORTH HORNELL, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Village of North Hornell Police Department is set to receive $9,900 in grant funding to improve their office.

The money is coming from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.  According to the police department, the money will support the purchasing of new office furniture for the police department including a new desk, secure lockers for the officers, storage cabinets for equipment, and an evidence storage unit and chairs.

The Village of North Hornell Police Department has received six grants over the last year, totaling approximately $160,000.00.
