Cloudy skies with late day snow showers
Clouds will be increasing on Wednesday as a clipper system approaches the area. Breezy conditions will be picking up and highs will be in the mid-30s. Scattered snow showers will begin into the late afternoon/early evening. Lows will be in the mid-20s tonight with scattered snow showers continuing. Windy weather takes over Thursday with gusts upwards of 40 to 50 mph at times. A wind advisory will be in effect from 1 AM to 7 PM Thursday for Tioga (PA) and Potter counties. The windy conditions will be accompanied by scattered snow showers, which will lead to snow squalls and blowing snow. This can reduce visibility and road conditions very quickly. Snow accumulation will range from 1-2" with localized higher amounts. Behind the system, colder conditions to settle in with highs in the upper-20s. Wind chills on Friday morning will be in the single digits and the breezy conditions stick around. Blustery conditions are expected, so make sure to bundle up! Isolated snow showers cannot be ruled out under partly cloudy skies on Friday. Temperatures will be on the rise through the 30s and 40s this upcoming weekend. Mostly cloudy skies kick off the weekend with a few lake effect snow showers in the morning hours on Saturday. Sunday is dry with clouds decreasing. Early next week will be a soggy start with rain showers in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will be rising through the 40s and into the 50s by the time we get to Tuesday.
