Canton man already in prison sentenced on additional sex charges

TOWANDA, PA. (WENY) -- A Canton, Pennsylvania man will spend up to 20 more years behind bars after being sentenced on child sexual assault charges.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney's Office, 51-year-old Dwight Cole was convicted of Statutory Sexual Assault after sexually assaulting a 13-year-old child in Canton back in 2020.
He will serve at least two years in state prison on the charge.
Cole is already behind bars after being sentenced in Tioga County, Pa. to a maximum of 133 years in prison when he was convicted of numerous sex related offenses in 2024. The Tioga Co. charges came with a minimum sentence of 62 years behind bars.
"These sentences will likely serve to incapacitate Mr. Cole for the rest of his life, and keep the community safe from his predation," said Richard Wilson, the District Attorney for Bradford County.
If Cole is ever released from prison, he will have to register as a sex offender.
