ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Long Island Medium is set to take the stage at the Clemens Center in Elmira.  Theresa Caputo says she wishes to deliver messages from loved ones that bring people the most peace at the moment, and WENY News got to talk to her about what makes sharing her gift with the community special.

"I always say I'm going to show up with my hair done, great dress and fabulous shoes," said Theresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium.

Theresa Caputo has been been a practicing medium for over twenty years now.  She has taken her talents on the road, channeling spirit and connecting with people across the country.

"I come out on the stage, I give a little quick speech on how I read connect with spirit and what people could expect over the next two hours, and then, once I start sensing and feeling spirit, I allow the souls of the departed to guide me around the theater," said Caputo. "I randomly stop in front of someone, start channeling their loved ones, say things that mean absolutely nothing to me, but a life changing to the person that I'm speaking to."

Now, the Southern Tier will have an opportunity to share stories and listen to spirit.  Between two TV shows, a podcast, and the live tour, Theresa says its been special to share the journey around the country, and now right here in our backyard.

"I couldn't imagine like I feel, like talking to the dead is not a common occupation, but I feel like I wouldn't trade what I do for anything here in the physical world and I consider it an honor and a privilege to do this work, to travel all over the country and, you know, the fact that people trust me with the souls of their departed loved ones is why I really continue to do what I do as well," said Caputo.

The show is taking place on February 19th at 7 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased here.
