Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung Co. to Host Homesteading Workshop

ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung Co. is hosting a Homesteading Workshop later this week, for individuals and families interested in learning sustainable living practices.
The workshop is happening on Saturday, February 8th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Park Church in Elmira. It's open to people of all skill levels.
The workshop will cover a variety of topics including food preservation and woodlot management. This workshop can help provide information and hands-on experience needed to start or enhance your journey to a more sustainable way of living.
Key topics will include:
- Soil Health
- Small Ruminants
- Preserving food through Canning, Dehydrating, and Freezing
- DIT Woodlot Management
- Root to Rise Homesteading (Small Business Development)
The workshop will feature both presentations and hands-on activities. People will have the chance to network, ask questions, and learn about resources available to them.
