ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- A new Taco Bell location will be coming to an empty lot on Elmira's southside.

Construction on the new franchise will start, weather permitting, in April, according to Hospitality Restaurant Group, a Taco Bell franchisee company who will run the new location.

The restaurant was approved to be built at 370 S. Main St. in Elmira by the Chemung County Planning Board on Aug. 22, 2024.

No word yet on when construction will be finished, and the business will open.

Currently, Chemung County is home to two Taco Bell locations. One is in Southport at 1149 Broadway St., while the other is located in Big Flats at 865 County Road 64.
