ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Two officers with the Elmira Police Department received non-life threatening injuries after allegedly being assaulted during two separate incidents that happened during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Feb. 18th. 

According to the EPD, the first incident happened around 1 a.m. when police were called to investigate an alleged larceny. When police arrived, they say they found the suspect, who refused to surrender peacefully and became physical with officers. 

The second incident happened around 4 a.m., when police say they found a man sleeping inside the lobby of the Stathmont Plaza. Police say when they confronted the suspect, they got physical, injuring one officer. 

As a result, 61-year-old Eric Knox and 57-year-old Michael Walker have both been charged with one count of felony assault.
