BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Tanglewood is one step closer to making their Canopy Walkway project a reality.

The nature center announced on Tuesday that they received a $150,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes for the project.  The Canopy Walkway Project will include walkways up to 300 feet that will be suspended 60 to 80 feet above the ground, designed to give visitors views of the tree canopy and the cliffs along the Chemung River.

The project is expected to open sometime next year.  Donations can be made to the project here.
