ITHACA, NY (WENY) -- The Ithaca Police Department announced they have arrested a Wayne County man for an alleged robbery that happened on South Cayuga Street shortly before midnight on Thursday, February 27. Police arrested Marcus Beane, a 40 year old man from Wayne County, charging him with robbery.

In a statement, the IPD alleges Beane used an unknown weapon and passed a note to an employee demanding money from the register before fleeing the scene. A suspect matching Beane's description was seen near the end end of the commons according to police, leading to him being taken into custody without incident. 

Beane is being held without bail, and the money he allegedly took has been recovered.
