SWAT team involved in drug bust in Village of Bath

BATH, NY (WENY) -- Three people were arrested and charged in Bath after the Village of Bath Police Department and Steuben County Sheriff's Office SWAT team administered a no-knock search warrant on Belfast Street on Thursday, February 27 around 5:30 A.M. According to police, the bust was the result of an investigation into the possession and sales of narcotics.
During the investigation, police say a large amount of methamphetamine was located, along with a quantity of suspected fentanyl. There were also several narcotics packaging and sales materials found at the scene, according to the BPD.
As a result, 54-year-old Joseph E. Hojnoski of Bath was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree. He was also charged with one count of Tampering With Physical Evidence. Hojnoski was taken to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment with the opportunity for bail.
47-year-old Kimberly S. Jerrells of Bath was arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree. Jerrells was taken to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment and released.
33-year-old Michelle L. Burleson of Bath was arrested on an arrest warrant for one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree. Burleson was taken to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment where she was also released.
The BPD says additional charges are expected.
