BARTON, N.Y. (WENY) -- Two children were arrested after allegedly setting fire to a vacant home in Barton after breaking into it.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, the fire was set at the vacant home on Ellistown Rd. on the evening of March 31. The cause of the fire was deemed suspicious after being put out by responding fire fighters.

The minors are charged with Burglary, Arson and Criminal Mischief, all felonies.

Law enforcement say they caused around $65,000 worth of damage to the building.

Both suspects were issued appearance tickers for the Tioga County Probation Department and Tioga County Family Court.
