Owego to Celebrate the Grand Opening of New Skate Park

OWEGO, N.Y. (WENY) -- Owego is set to welcome an exciting new addition to the village on Friday, with the grand opening of a brand-new skate park. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place at 12 p.m., marking the official debut of this state-of-the-art facility.
The skate park is located at Marvin Park on West Main Street and is designed to provide a premium experience for both local skaters and visitors. According to the village, the new space is expected to become a hub for skateboarding enthusiasts and a valuable recreational asset for the community.
According to the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce, this project, which came with a price tag of $500,000 is part of a larger $2 million revitalization effort for Marvin Park. The skate park was fully funded through New York State's Downtown Revitalization Initiative, a program aimed at supporting community development and enhancing public spaces.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend the ribbon-cutting event and explore the new skate park, which represents a significant investment in the village's recreational infrastructure.
