Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Two People Stabbed in Elmira

(WENY) -- A man is facing an attempted murder charge for allegedly stabbing two people in Elmira on April 20th.
According to the Elmira Police Department, they responded to the 200 block of W. Chemung Pl. around 12:15 a.m. for a report of someone who was stabbed. Upon arrival, police said they found a victim with a life-threatening injury to their neck.
The victim was taken to Robert Packer Hospital and is in stable condition.
Officials said a second victim was also stabbed and had minor injuries to their face and hand. They were taken to Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
According to EPD, both victims knew and identified the suspect. Police said Bruce Jones fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving, and was located not far from W. Chemung Pl.
Jones was charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault.
