GENEVA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Runners are taking over Seneca Lake on April 27th for the 13th annual Seneca7 Relay.
The 77.7 mile race starts at 5:45 p.m. in Downtown Geneva, with 302 teams circling the lake throughout the day. Organizers are urging drivers to be cautious during race time.
“Runners will be spaced out in 11 waves, with the first at 5:45 a.m. and the final wave starting at 9:15,” says race director Ian Golding. “We expect to see traffic along the west side of the lake during the morning hours, through Watkins Glen around mid-day, and along the western shore in the later morning, afternoon, and into the evening. East Lake Road between Sampson State Park and Geneva should see the most race traffic between 4 and 8 p.m.”
Volunteers from local nonprofits will manage traffic and exchange points.
