HAMMONDSPORT, N.Y. (WENY) --  A former auto service station on Main Street has been revamped thanks to the efforts of residents Kim and Nolan Smith. As passionate cyclists, the couple found inspiration from their adventures across the U.S. and Europe, where they found joy in stopping for coffee and pastries during their rides.

This experience showed the Smiths the significant and fun role coffee shops can play as spaces for cyclists to share tips and connect.

Their vision to create a welcoming community space is now a reality with the opening of Service Station FLX.

"We have been working on this project for a couple of years, and it’s great to finally see it come to life,” said Kim Smith, co-owner of the café. The new establishment [is] located at 43 Main Street, a spot frequented by cyclists enjoying the scenic views of the nearby lake."

The Smiths hope everyone, locals and visitors alike, regardless of how they arrive. As cycling continues to grow in popularity within the area, the cafe aims to offer a comfortable stop for riders and visitors, to connect with the community.

Service Station FLX is located at 43 Main St., Hammondsport, NY 14840.
