BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WENY) -- After more than 70 years in business in Horseheads, Turk's Produce and Flower Market has settled into a new location at 9 Winters Road in Big Flats. That's the same location as Ted's Produce and Flower Market, with both businesses sharing the same owner. 

"It's just new and improved, we wanted to go smaller because we wanted to enjoy life. Down at the other location it was hustle bustle and we just want to kinda slow down a little bit," said Ted Ostrander, owner. 

The previous location of Turks located on South Main Street had become something of a mainstay in Horseheads. But Ostrander said customers are already adjusting. 

"It's been great, we had a lot of customers come in from Horseheads area, coming in saying its great that we're up here," he said. 

Despite the plans to take it easy, Ostrander says he already has plans to expand and obtain a bakery license. The new location is currently open seven days a week, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. 

But keep in mind, the signage for the new location still says Ted's Produce and Flower Market.
