Construction to resume Monday on $7M road project in Mansfield

MANSFIELD, PA. (WENY) -- Crews will resume their work on a two-year-long, $7.2 million construction project in the Borough of Mansfield on Monday, April 28.
Workers will be milling and resurfacing North Main St. between E. Elmira St. and the Route 15 interchange. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, alternating lane restrictions will be in place where the work is being performed.
Officials say roadwork in Mansfield's business district will be done at night.
As part of the project, work will also be done on Route 6 between the Tioga River and Swan St.
In order to finish construction, crews are planning to complete the remaining pavement repairs, mill and resurface the road, put an epoxy overlay over the Route 6 bridge and paint lines on the road.
Last year, crews rehabilitated the Route 6 bridge over the Tioga River, conducted drainage improvements, relocated utilities and built ADA ramps.
Construction is expected to be finished by the fall.
Glenn O. Hawbaker is the prime contractor overseeing the construction project.
