SOUTHPORT, NY (WENY) -- The town of Southport is looking for public feedback on a future community center.

The town will host an informational meeting on Monday, April 28, at 6PM at Town Hall at 1139 Pennsylvania Avenue. Southport will share information about applying for a New York State Municipal Park and Recreation grant, which would go towards building a new community center. 

The event will be run by the Community & Municipal Development Group, a consulting team working with the town on the grant application process. Community feedback is a vital part of the application. 

The hope is the community center will serve as a hub for activities, recreation and public programs.
