Residents across the Southern Tier and throughout New York State will soon have the opportunity to attend emergency preparedness classes aimed at equipping individuals and families with the tools and knowledge needed to respond effectively to disasters. These classes are being hosted by the New York Homeland Security and the National Guard.

The event is designed to teach participants how to respond to emergencies, build an emergency kit, stock up on essential supplies, and create a comprehensive family emergency plan. As an added bonus, attendees will receive a free emergency starter kit to help them begin their preparedness journey. Locally, theres events being held in Tompkins, Steuben, and Chemung Counties.
