BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- A home in the Village of Bath was damaged after a fire Thursday afternoon.

According to the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, the fire happened at a home on Chestnut Street around 4:15 p.m. Firefighters were dispatched to the home after a fire was reported in an attached shop. Bath VFD said everyone inside escaped the home, and the Red Cross was called in to help the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
