Buyer Announced for Ward Manufacturing Foundry in Blossburg
BLOSSBURG, PA (WENY) -- A local manufacturer in Tioga County, PA has a new buyer, which will keep the facility open.
Rytoriacap, Incorporated and ASC Engineered Solutions announced Friday that Rytoria has acquired the Ward Manufacturing foundry and facilities in Blossburg. Back in January, Ward employees were notified that the foundry could close by the end of 2025 if a buyer wasn't found. The company had just been purchased by ASC in February of 2024.
ASC said it had made the decision to sell the foundry in Blossburg, and transition production to its plant in Columbia, PA. Rytoria is headquartered in Yoe, PA, specializing in recycling and processing metals such as aluminum, copper and brass.
“Blossburg is a wonderful community with great talent, and we are excited to launch the next chapter of Rytoria’s growth here,” said Lorne Kalisky, CEO of Rytoria. “This facility provides a strong foundation for our expansion and long-term success. We look forward to engaging with local leaders and learning more about the community’s workforce as we implement a phased expansion strategy aligned with Rytoria’s broader U.S. growth objectives.”
“Manufacturing at this site has been part of the fabric of Tioga County for generations,” said Tioga County Commissioner Shane Nickerson. “I’m proud of our ability to attract great companies like Rytoria, which will invest in the future of this site to jointly benefit their growing business and our community. Alongside the rest of our Commission, I look forward to supporting Rytoria’s success in Blossburg.”
ASC Engineered Solutions will continue to operate the Blossburg facility until the end of the year, under a lease-back agreement with Rytoria. Both companies say they will explore potential collaboration opportunities in the future through supply agreements.
