ITHACA -- Efforts are now underway to repair and eventually re-open Ithaca's Cascadilla Gorge Trail.
     The gorge has been closed the past year because of safety hazards on and around the trail.
     Thanks to funding from Cornell University, work has begun to enhance the trail's entrances at Lynn Street and College Avenue.  Crews are replacing handrails, fixing stairs, and installing fencing.  A completion date has not yet been set.
     In the meantime, officials are reminding visitors to obey the "trail closed" signs.
