Pios Win Streak Snap- Magic Number For Division Down To One

Elmira's win streak would stop at nine as the Jammers would take down the Pioneers Tuesday night at the Dunn. Next up for the Pios is to lock up the West division championship and their magic number to do so is down to won. Ryan Tosses A Gem As Dodgers Head To Western Division Championship

In a win or go home playoff match up the Dodgers got their best pitching performance of the season by Connor Ryan. Ryan would go 8 scoreless innings and Jake Miller would pick up the save as Hornell would toss their first shutout of the season in game number 47. Dylan May and John Ricotta would both add solo homeruns as the Dodgers advance to the NYCBL Western Division Championship. >>

Jackals Announce New Head Coach

The Elmira Jackals announced they have selected David Leger as their new head coach. Prior to Elmira, Leger was an assistant coach with the Evansville Icemen. leger, originally from Orleans, Ontario, was an assistant coach with the Hawkwsbury Hawks of the CJHL in 1998, before becoming the head coach in 1999. Since then, he has coached 11 seasons with the University of Ottawa, the Tohoku Free Blades and the Nippon Paper Cranes in Japan, he also coached Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák in Hungary, before retuyning to Canada to coach the Cumberland Grads. Leger stated in the Jackals official press release: "It is my sincere privilege to be the next Head Coach of the Elmira Jackals and I look forward to providing our fans with a team that works hard every night," said Leger. "I also look forward to working with the players to help them develop to their full potential during this important time in their professional careers." Elmira opens their season Saturday, October 15th at Reading. >>
