    WASHINGTON, DC (WENY) -- It is a proposal that has been in the works for almost a decade. Crestwood Midstream's plans to store up to 1.5 million barrels of liquid petroleum gas in underground caverns beneath Seneca Lake. While the battle is happening over 300 miles from Capitol Hill, lawmakers on both sides are getting involved.

    WATKINS GLEN, NY (WENY) - A natural gas storage company is backing off on plans to expand storage in underground salt caverns in Schuyler County. Arlington Storage Company, a subsidiary of Crestwood, filed a report with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The report says it's discontinuing efforts for the "Gallery 2 Expansion project" at its property in Watkins Glen.
