Boating for a Cure for Cancer

Boating for a Cure on Seneca Lake

WATKINS GLEN (WENY) --  You can take to the water this weekend and support the fight against cancer at the same time.

Saturday, June 14 is the annual, 'Boating for A Cure' event on Seneca Lake.  The boats will start lining up at Clute Park at the south end of the lake at 11 A.M. and finish by the Cargill Salt break wall around 2 P.M.

Joyce Knight is one of the organizers and a 50-year cancer survivor.  She participates in the annual event to spread hope and to honor the family members she's lost to the disease.

"Just because you have cancer doesn't mean you gotta die," says Knight. "You get help and you get people who love people and care for people."

Registration costs 15 dollars, and the money goes to the American Cancer Society.
