WENY-TV Jubilee Grocery Challenge

Jubilee Grocery Event

HORSEHEADS (WENY)---WENY-TV Viewers raced against the clock and shopped til they dropped or at least until time was up at last night's Jubillee Grocery Challenge.

Chief Meteorgolist Joe Veres had his head in the game and so did five contestants. All five were looking to win the grand prize- a basket full of groceries from the Jubilee in Horseheads. Each contestant had to find 36 memorial day items as fast as possible.

WENY-TV was on hand to help and in the end Judith Dickerson came out on top. She completed the race for her mom in 13 minutes and 41 seconds.

Dickerson says winning the basket full of groceries could not have come at a better time for her family. She said, "My son, her husband was laid off for the past three and half years, he did just geet a job, but you know the bill mount up, so it comes in very handy."

Dickerson's grandaughter, Jewell Dickerson said, "I like pink lunch pale thingy-mabob."

All contestants in the Jubilee Grocery Challenge walked away with $40 dollar gift cards.
