BATH (WENY) -- The man convicted of a Corning murder is in more trouble, for allegedly assaulting a corrections officer.
     A Steuben County grand jury indicted 39-year-old Marland Brooks for second degree assault. Brooks is accused of assaulting and injuring the corrections officer at the Steuben County jail on January 4th, when he was incarcerated there while awaiting his February murder trial.
     Brooks is currently serving 25 years to life for murdering Clark VanEtten of Corning last June, during a drug-related robbery.
