Vigil for Murdered Elmira Man

ELMIRA (WENY) -- Dozens of family members, friends and neighbors gathered on Elmira's Eastside to remember Randy Brooks on Thursday night.

His loved ones came together for a candlelight vigil in Brook's memory.  Neighbors say Brooks would do anything for his friends, enjoyed life and loved eating cheeseburgers, one of his favorite foods.  Many of them say they still can't believe Randy is gone.

"I miss my man, he didn't do nothing wrong," says Brooks' cousin Jose Labradoy. "And whoever did it, they was wrong for what they did. There was no hatred around here for him, he was loved."

"He was a good man, everybody was his friend," says another cousin  Anthony Swain.

Randy leaves behind many loved ones, including a girlfriend and a baby on the way.
