
World War II Bomber Planes At Elmira Airport
Big Flats (WENY) -- Three World War II bombers took to the air today at Elmira Corning Regional Airport as part of the Wings of Freedom Tour.
The planes are open for self-guided tours to the public through Friday. It's $12 for adults and $6 for kids.
If you want to take a flight in one of the bombers, it costs $425.
Today, eight local WWII vets flew in on the plane from Penn Yan .
"Oh it meant a lot," said William Turner from Stanley, New York. "It brought back all of my memories. I can remember all the details for all through the war. It brought it all back."
The tours will be open Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.
