FAA Cuts Cause Travel Delays
Cuts FAA Effect Travelers Nationwide
Washington D.C. (WENY)- As part of a deal to avoid the fiscal cliff, Congress approved budget cuts that forced many federal agencies to cut services and staff hours. Today those budget cuts kicked in for air travelers.
The FAA furloughed a tenth of its workers...including 15,000 air traffic controllers.
So as we head into the busy summer travel months, the FAA is warning that as many 6700 flights -every day --could be delayed because there are not enough air traffic controllers to manage them.
