Washington D.C.(WENY)- The federal government went another step further to fight the sale and distribution of three forms of synthetic marijuana.

The Drug Enforcement Agency issued a legal notice, classifying the substances as Schedule-1 drugs.

A Schedule-1 classification means the drugs has high potential for abuse, has no accepted medical treatment, and lack of accepted safety for its use under medical supervision.

Five other forms of the synthetic pot were banned two years ago.

Officials say nearly all synthetic marijuana blends are imported mostly from China and India.
