Gas Prices Drop
April 24, 2013
CHEMUNG COUNTY-- (WENY) According to Gas Buddy.com average retail gasoline prices in New York have fallen 4.5 cents per gallon. This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.6 cents in the last week.
Prices yesterday were 38.4 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 18.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
Drivers over at Brynn Dairy in Horseheads were clearly pleased with this news so we asked what they would be doing with their extra change.
"It goes into my volunteer work at the 4H which is a division of Cornell cooperative extension in Chemung County," said driver Pat VanSlyke from Erin.
Laina Karosic from Ithaca said, "I'm happy about it because I'm a student and I'm going on to an unpaid internship for the time being it will just be a nice little extra money in my pocket."
With Memorial Day just a few weeks away, this is certainly good news to drivers.
