Man Pleads Guilty In Northern Tier Bank Robberies

BINGHAMPTON---(AP) Prosecutors say an upstate New York man has admitted robbing a string of banks near his hometown and in neighboring Pennsylvania.
U.S. Attorney Richard Hartunian says 44-year-old Samuel Parrotti II of Lisle in Broome County pleaded guilty yesterday to four felony counts of bank robbery.
Authorities say Parrotti got away with about $38,000 from the four holdups in Binghamton, Whitney Point and Sayre and Scranton in Pennsylvania. They say he claimed to be armed and passed notes to tellers demanding cash in each case.
Parrotti faces up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000 on each of the counts. He's set to be sentenced on May 23 in federal court in Binghamton.
