Sayre Theater Turning 100

Plans are in the works to celebrate the Sayre Theater’s 100th anniversary and organizers want your feedback on how to do it right.

Sayre (WENY) - Plans are in the works to celebrate the Sayre Theater's 100^th anniversary and organizers want your feedback on how to do it right. The theater's actual birthday will be a two day celebration starting on new year's eve 2014 and continuing into 2015. Organizers are planning four separate events, and ideas include vaudeville performance and silent movies. Manager Marjorie Ross says they're looking for more input from the community, because that's what the old theater’s all “Everybody seems to come together at the Sayre Theater out front,” says Ross. “At Christmas we collect toys for kids we just do so much in the community. I think if this building could talk for itself for it's 100th birthday it would say it's glad it's still here.”
