Spencer Man Killed in Seneca Co Car Crash

SENECA COUNTY (WENY) - A Spencer man is dead after his car collided with another in Seneca County.
It happened at around 2:30 Thursday afternoon in the area of State Route 89 and Hatch Road.
Marvin Roorda, 63, of Spencer New York crossed over into the Northbound lane and hit a car. According to the Seneca County Sherriff's Office, Roorda had to be extricated from his car and was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Deputies report he passed away.
The two people in the other car were also taken to the hospital. Larry Potts, who was driving the car, was treated for a broken hip. His wife Mary Potts was treated for a broken ankle and broken ribs. Both were in stable condition as of Thursday.
The accident is still under investigation. Deputies were assisted on scene by the New York State Police along with crews from the South Seneca Ambulance, Trumansburg Fire Department and Bangs ambulance.
