CORNING (WENY) -- New members were welcomed to the City of Corning's police and fire department Wednesday morning.
At 10:00 AM, family and friends met at City Hall Council Chambers and watched as two police officers and four firefighters were sworn in. Mayor Rich Negri sworn in police officers John Emo and Trevor Field, along with Fire Chief Brad Davies and firefighters Thomas Margeson, Jeff Brenning and Chad Willis. Fire Chief Brad Davies has been in the City of Corning since 2000 and says he's excited for the new opportunity.
Davies said, "today is a great celebration for the firefighters and the police officers of the city of corning to be recognized."
Mayor Richard Negri added,  "those guys do a wonderful job and like I say for me to be able to swear them in and give them the oath of office it's a big honor."
Mayor Negri says these aren't additions to the departments, they are just replacing those that have left or retired.
