Grand Re-Opening of Starr Barn Agriculture Exhibit
CORNING (WENY) -- If  you're looking to test your hand at being at farmer, Corning has just the place for you. The Starr Barn agricultural exhibit had its grand re-opening at the Benjamin Patterson Inn this afternoon. The new exhibit is designed to show what it was like to be a framer in the 1800's. It follows the journey of farmer through his diary as he tends to his crops throughout the year.
Guests can participate in hands on activities like milking a cow and chopping wood. The exhibit was designed by Jessica Cummingham, the director of the Corning Painted post historical society. “A lot of hands on activities to like I said follow the diary and try various farming tasks from collecting chicken eggs to chopping a log with an axe. There's a grain identification board so you can try your hand at being able to pick out which I rye and which is wheat.
The museum is open Monday through Friday 10 to 4 and it will be hosting a kids summer camp from July 29th to the 31st.
