Tompkins County Schools On High Alert
Three Tompkins County school districts are amping up patrols after a suspicious man was spotted in the neighborhood, not once, but three separate times. Lansing Central School District Acting Superintendent, Chris Pettograsso, says the district is now on high alert after reports that the man's been approaching elementary students.
Neighbors describe the suspect as a white man in his early 20's, seen driving a blue sedan. Pettograsso says he approached two students at the Lansing Town Park Thursday, and when the child pulled out his phone to call his mother, the man turned around and walked away.
The suspect's also been spotted along Goodman Road in Groton and near Collins Road in Freeville. Dryden and Groton Schools have also issued warnings. Anyone with info is asked to call the Tompkins County anonymous tip line at (607) 266-5420.
