NY Senate Could Get Dem. Majority
ALBANY (WENY) -- Democrats are on the verge of regaining the majority in the state Senate, and the whole legislature.
But some races remain too close to call, and several things need to happen. Democrats needed to hold on to two seats, and then win another three to gain a Senate majority.
Another question mark is four independent Dems who make up the Independent Democratic Caucus, and could cut a deal with Republicans. That could mean a democratic majority on paper, but Republicans would still rule.
Democrats currently control the state Assembly, and Governor Andrew Cuomo is a Democrat.
