Study Examines Drilling Impact on PA Forests

     PENNSYLVANIA (WENY) --  A new report has found the gas drilling boom in Pennsylvania is not having a positive or negative impact on state forests.

     The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources released the 200 plus page report this week.It found that, "shale gas production on state forests lands is neither benign nor catastrophic".

     Nearly 1,5000 acres of state forest land has some type of drilling development, out of about 2.2 million acres in the state forest system.
