Bobbie Kugler Pleads Not Guilty to Murder, Assault
Written By: Renata Stiehl
ROCHESTER, NY (WENY) -- The former Elmira woman accused of setting the fire that killed four of her children pleaded not guilty today. Bobbie Kugler appeared in Monroe County Court in Rochester, after she was indicted earlier this week on second degree murder and assault charges.
Police say 31 year old Kugler started the February fire on Grape Street that killed her four children, by setting pictures of her former boyfriend on fire, and throwing them onto a dresser filled with combustible materials. Prosecutors haven't said they think Kugler intentionally killed her children, who were 14, 13, 12 and 6.
Kugler and her two year old son Tyron escaped from the burning home. The family moved to Rochester from Elmira last November.
