New York Legislature approved a bill some say will boost the growth of industrial hemp.
Twin Tiers (WENY) - New York Legislature approved a bill some say will boost the growth of industrial hemp. Local State Senator Tom O'Mara sponsored the legislation along with Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo.
O'Mara says industrial hemp could provide new economic opportunities to farmers. He says it would be help researchers at the New York Farm Bureau and Cornell University. Fifteen states already have laws in place that allow them to begin producing hemp. The bill now goes to Governor Cuomo to be signed.
