ALBANY (WENY)---The New York Senate has passed a measure that will only release teacher evaluations to parents, not the public.

The proposal only allows an educator's evaluation to go out to the parents and guardians of students in their class.

Lawmakers argued that if the reviews were made public, it could create a media frenzy.

The ruling came yesterday after a court decision mandated all evaluations be made public.
