Green sentenced to 20 years to life

ITHACA, NY (WENY) - The Tompkins County man convicted in the stabbing death of an Ithaca College student in 2016 has been sentenced.

Nagee Green will spend 20 years to life in prison, according to the Ithaca Journal. Green was found guilty during a retrial in September of stabbing Anthony Nazaire during a fight after a party on the Cornell University campus in August 2016. He was convicted of assault in his first trial for stabbing Nazaire’s friend, who survived the attack.

Authorities say Green, from nearby Freeville, attacked Nazaire and his Ithaca College classmate after the classmate bumped into a woman after a party on Aug. 28, 2016, setting off fights that led to both students being stabbed. The classmate survived, but Nazaire later died of his injuries at Cayuga Medical Center.
