ITHACA, NY (WENY) - One of the men accused of murdering a Newfield resident in December 2016 has been acquitted.

Roy Clements, Jr. walked out of Tompkins County Court a free man Wednesday afternoon. A jury found him not guilty of murder, robbery and conspiracy charges. He was accused of killing 30-year-old Camden Rundell.

Prosecutors argued Clements and four other people conspired to steal marijuana plants from the basement of Rundell's home. According to prosecutors, Clements laid on Rundell to restrain him in the yard while the robbery happened. Rundell died of asphyxiation.

Two other people, Jamie Gerhart and Colleen McColgin, are still facing murder charges for their alleged involvement in the crime.
