ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Local residents were given a chance to shop local at the second annual "Community Arts Market".
The market was held inside the Community Arts of Elmira building on Saturday.
The market showcased local artists and their handmade work.
Visitors could explore a wide variety of art, from handbags to paintings.
While kids could enjoy free activities, like face painting.
Organizers say the market gives residents an alternative way to shop for the holidays.
"It serves the need in the community when people are looking for an alternative to the mall and online shopping," said Community Arts of Elmira president, Lynne Rusinko. "These are local artists and they are making original, creative, artistic products that are one-of-a-kind special gifts."
The Community Arts Market was free and open to the public.
